Maxine's Retirement Jokes

Finally here I am! ^ ^
weeks have been a little hectic, but my passion for sweets is certainly not failed!
While not updated the blog in time for the Carnival, the desserts for the period of the year there have been more playful ... so let's start with these delicious muffins!
The recipe for these muffins came after several attempts to find the right consistency of the cake, I'll explain: I love the muffins, but these cakes are inedible very often the next day because they become very hard!
some time looking for a recipe for muffins and of course soft greedy, just wandering around on sites, information from friends and experimenting with gourmet recipes, I am finally come to a recipe that I find very good!
Let's go!

Ingredients 250 gr.
flour 1 teaspoon cornstarch
120 gr.
sugar 70 gr. butter 2 eggs
250 gr. strawberry yogurt
vanilla 1 tablespoon baking
100 gr. dark chocolate

Preparation
As noted in the recipe with Muffin Nutella heart of the preparation of muffins is divided into two distinct phases: dry ingredients to wet ingredients vs!
It starts with the pour in a bowl the flour, cornstarch and sugar! I remember the corn starch may partially replace the flour, but I always suggest in the case of muffins ever not to use too!
Once dry ingredients are thoroughly mixed together and you begin to prepare the wet!
In a bowl beat the eggs, softened butter or previously dissolved, and yogurt with strawberries!
When the mixture is well mixed we can add dark chocolate cut into small pieces ... You can also use chocolate chips, but I highly recommend the chocolate pieces to get a great result so gorgeous!
At this point there is nothing left to add to wet the dry components being careful to stir well!
Finally, add the baking powder vanilla, stirring constantly!
Remember that you must mix well, but not too much!
now do is to just put the mixture into molds and then into the muffin pan!
Council to pay at least 1 tablespoon plus 1 / 2 of mixture for each paper cups!
Place in preheated oven and fanned at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes!
Once cooked leave to rest and then remove from the pan!

What else in this goodness? After that you will discover how to slightly cool the aftertaste of strawberry yogurt with chocolate marry divinely founded and slightly warm as it sends you into ecstasy!

premiere movie: Men of God Xavier Beauvois, France 2010 - 120'con Lambert Wilson, Michael Lonsdale

North Africa, the heights of the Maghreb. A mission of eight French monks living peacefully divided by the daily work and prayer. But when a terrorist attack disrupts the region is now clear that this harmony is about to be deleted. Several times, the monks gather to assess whether to stay or leave. The final decision is to stay where their mission has called them. Until the day that terrorists do not take them and carry them away under the snow. Two can stay at the monastery. Other have not returned.
The fact, as you know, it really happened. The letter is read at the end is the true testament dictated by Father Christian .... is proposed below an article from the Patriarch of Venice, Angelo Scola, the monks because of Tibhirine interested in and have success at the cinema, recently published in La Stampa: An answer for those who wonder if God's desire is still present in our time. Is it reasonable for a man of the Third Millennium to believe in God, recognize it as familiar. The success of the film about the monks of Tibhirine, which is attracting so much attention around the world, it seems to me to reflect the yearning of the heart women and men of any latitude to meet the face of God then all of us live in the need for authentic witnesses, to help us keep up the look. Authentic witness it is not reducible to "lead by example." It shines in all its integrity as a method of practical knowledge of reality and communication of truth. It 's a primary value than any other form of communication and knowledge: scientific, philosophical, theological, artistic, etc.. A shining example of this method is offered by the words of his spiritual legacy of Father Christian de Chergé, prior of the Trappist monastery of Notre-Dame de l'Atlas in Tibhirine, Algeria, which he had written three years before being murdered with his monks: "When the time comes, I wish I could have that moment of clarity that would allow me to ask God's forgiveness and that of my brothers in humanity, forgiving whole heart, at the same time, who would strike me ... I do not see how I could rejoice in the fact that these people who I love should be accused of my murder. Would pay too high a price that would be called, perhaps, "the grace of martyrdom" to owe it to an Algerian, whoever he is, especially if he says he is acting in fidelity to what he believes to be Islam [...] in the end I will be freed by curiosity I carry most avid in: sink my eyes at his father to see his children of Islam as he sees them: all lighted with the glory of Christ, they, too, the fruit of his Passion, the gift of the Spirit, whose secret joy will be to restore communion and the similarity in the differences. Of my life lost, totally mine and totally theirs, I thank God that seems to have wanted the whole because of this joy, and contrary to everything regardless. And you, my friend last moment, who do not know what you are doing, yes, for you I want to say thanks, and this in-God, in whose face I look upon you. And there is the opportunity to meet again, thieves filled with joy in heaven, if it pleases God our Father, the Father of both. " This is one of the most beautiful pages ever written in 900 takes you to the full as in martyrdom are done storytelling event that God makes of himself and one that allows us to do about Him and His name. Martyrdom, the grace that God bestows on the unarmed and that no one can claim, is an incomparable gesture of unity and mercy. And 'the defeat of any eclipse of God, and his return in the fullness of life by offering part of her children. A surrender of self that overcomes evil, even that "unjustifiable" because it reconstructs the unit, even with the one that kills. As Jesus took upon Himself our evil forgiven in advance, so the martyr, as Father Christian, embraces Early his executioner in the name of the gift of love of God, least of all recognizable as an absolute transcendent. Only testimony credible with the freedom of move-and invites him strongly to the decision. Benedict XVI recalled how effectively, we become witnesses when, "through our actions, words and way of being, Another makes himself present." The monks of Thibirine awaken and move in their testimony because "God is exposed, so to speak, at the risk of human freedom." (October 22, 2010)

behavior must be consistent with our Christian lives, and then show our ability to witness to faith in Christ Jesus The "sale" is merely a compendium of the three theological virtues: faith, hope and charity. Translated, the small grain of salt has become a huge and massive explosive potential that can only bring good to all. consequential is strengthened and the second sentence of the Gospel: "You are the light of the world." All the conditions are first reinforced this view. We are all called to do this, to be that way, to behave in this way. How To Remove Carpet Wrangler

The "question Galileo in physics textbooks

It amazes me how in some physics textbooks for high school the "question of Galileo, although not a lot to do with the teaching of physics, not only continues to resurface, but is presented with a number of ideological distortions and historical inaccuracies.

also strikes me that these books will show only the scientist Galileo relations with the Church, which are considered as Legendary stormy, but rarely are references to the lives of other scientists, and never refers to their spirituality or their relationship with the Church. Only with Galileo we talk about the relationship between science and faith, and in a distorted way.

What these books show Galileo is almost always the version told in a work drama, "Life of Galileo" by Bertold Brecht. It is therefore an intellectual, literary character, and without historical foundation. Today we would say, reading this work, that "the reference to people and events is purely coincidental." In fact, the history has shown clearly that what is imagined in this comedy does not follow the criteria of historical fiction and indeed openly pursuing ideological goals of Marxist propaganda.

For those wishing to deepen, it is illuminating the dossier "The Galileo Affair", Rino Camilleri, published in the series "The Notebooks of Timon" and ordered online.

The article summarizes the study of several sources, appearing in popular form.

Among other things it is understood that, in contrast with the Galileo affair, are now clear following points:

  • Galileo was never tortured by the Inquisition, was not even imprisoned nor killed (thus can not technically be called " martyr ");
  • at the time, the strongest opposition to Galileo and the Copernican theory, including the accusation of heresy, were placed by the Accademia dei Lincei, ie lay members.
was they, for example, in the person of Cremonini, refusing to look into the telescope.
Dai religious Galileo received appreciation and support, especially by many Jesuits.
  • their relationship was good with almost all men of faith, including prominent clerics: see, for example, the same Pope Urban VIII (Simplicio ridiculed by Galileo in the "Speeches"), that Galileo had tremendous admiration.
  • representatives of the Catholic Church and Galileo supported the heliocentric theory until the scientist did not support it publicly, so exaggerated, that the truth of that theory would necessarily entail a revision of the canon of scripture. And all for a theory which, remember, was not tested experimentally.
This is equivalent to replace the Magisterium of the Catholic Church with the new Science, which was all to be defined.
  • the so-called "condemnation of heresy" was not given to Galileo, but the Copernican theory as a theory certain, for theological impact (erroneous) that were also assigned to it by Galileo himself. It was declared a heretic Galileo in full (and the scientist was not burnt as a sorcerer).
  • not you ever notice that the Church will withdraw the condemnation of the Copernican theory heresy in 1754. Better late than never, considering that at that time still outstanding scientists believed the mistaken (PoincarĂ© between them).
  • the limitation of freedom of Galileo, which is unacceptable in principle today, was to exile in Siena in a residence where he lived in the same Bishop (not in a prison) and after a few months he was also obliged to riturato confinement. He always had such a chance to meet anyone who went to see him, as well as writing, studying, ...
  • if it is unacceptable for us today, the confinement of a scientist by the religious, not ever bring the following mitigating factors:
    - the religious authority was at once too political authority, and should be judged by the yardstick which we judge the political authorities, especially those of time
    - supporters of the Copernican theory, in Protestant countries like Switzerland, were persecuted with the pillory (according to the Protestant principle that "only writing" is a source of truth "
    - from point of view of modern science, mixing scientific results to theological statements is not considered proper - indeed, not scientific (in the sense that theological statements are worthy of great attention must be paid in places and with the tools of theological science).
  • Galileo never took tests of the accuracy of the Copernican theory.
E 'some doubt that his comments made obsolete the Ptolemaic:
was not so obvious, if not a principle of symmetry (abstract, non-experimental), that the Earth revolved around the Sun
Let us see what are the books that address the issue in a non-exact Galileo:

  1. in Physics - the first two years "of hostile Parodi (ed. LINX 2011), reads:
" the great Italian scientist was considered a martyr of free thought (!!!) and was the symbol of struggle of reason against obscurantism, superstition and intolerance "

This is a book for students of upper first high school science. With which students can assimilate a critical statement so hasty?
  2. The Caforio-Ferilli, book of reference for many generations, can not stay away dall'invettiva ideological.
In the introductory paragraph on the motion of planets (2004 edition, p. 399 of Volume 1), having presented the geocentric and the heliocentric theory, we read:
"The dispute between the supporters of the two theories became more and more heated, especially where the use of Galileo in support of the heliocentric theory, aimed to convince the leaders of the Catholic Church to accept and propaganda, had the opposite effect ... "

It is said that members of the Catholic Church and Galileo supported the heliocentric theory, at least until the scientist claimed publicly that this was supposed to lead to a revision of the canon of scripture, and that this statement led to the conviction in full (unfortunately) the Copernican theory.

instead Galileo is mentioned only for its scientific merits, like all other scientists in many other textbooks.
Among them we mention:
  • Amaldi, in all editions, of every age and grade
  • Walker "Physics" (and LINX 2010) - various issues. E 'considered a highly successful textbook, which has been able to update in a surprising way in physics education in Italy, having been successful in the United States.
  • Marazzini-Bergamaschini-Mazzoni (several editions, and the most recent year for two years: "Phenomena, experiment, read", ed. Minerva School)
  • In general, almost all texts of Anglo-Saxon origin show no interest in political and theological controversies of Galileo, as well as those of any other scientist.
may perhaps be thought, since as recently as this:
In 2009 the Association for the Teaching of Physics "held a conference on" The Legacy of Galileo, on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the publication of Starry Messenger.
However, as can be seen from the conference proceedings, none of the interventions was taken into account the personal story of Galileo: a further proof that this is not that made Galileo a Great Science.

How Long Does Profectiv Growth Renew Take To Work

buffaloes on the alleged" schools of Opus Dei "

I came across a really amazing blog, which talks about the schools where I work ( Faes Milan). The blog is this:

http://dentrolopusdei.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

There are several inaccuracies and statements that are visibly different even forced, often too easy or obvious generalization prevention.

Since you can not make comments to the Post, I decided to respond on my blog.

  • First it is striking that the blog is called "inside" of the opus, when in fact it would be more consistent name it "out of" Opus Dei, since those who manage it came out, and also point of view is that of a critical assessment of those who do not recognize the spirit of the institution.
  • There is no indication what the substance of the alleged secret relationship between schools and Faes Opus Dei.
I can testify that in 7 years of teaching I have never seen a single picture hanging on the wall of Josemaria Escriva, no one has ever celebrated anything about the occurrences of any religious institution (which is a rather common practice in Catholic schools). Adjustment. a painting of St. Josemaria in fact there in the chapel of the school!
  • In blog we read that the schools Faes "are frequented only by male or female, without moments of promiscuity."
Well, it may be useful to know that a number of years in high school are promoted various activities in which students collaborate in promiscuity (Milan Wiener Walz, Cultural Magazine, a series of film criticism). But you have to be a bit 'or updated "dentroilfaes" to know ...
There is no prohibition of promiscuity for these activities.
addition, at least three years (and has never been banned before) are organized by parents in high schools, cultural outings during school hours involving two established classes of male and female.
One of the most popular, repeated several times, is an excursion to the caves of Catullo, Sirmione. Often
university guidance is carried out jointly.
to me as a professor of physics, it happened to carry a workshop for the fifth above at the Museum of Science and Technology, together with the female equivalent class. With the approval of deans, directors and so on.
Many things are difficult to achieve simply because of the many initiatives put strict limits on the number of students per activity.
And 'certainly easier to make the classes mixed :-).
  • In fact, until recently, the motivation has gone out of fashion, the blog attributed to some parents at the school, that ".. would not be a priority for the socialization school (because you can do it elsewhere) but the teaching (the role of the school) "
While I apply the same reasoning in principle, but in recent times is no longer considered a priority (the motivation, not the choice homogeneity). Let's say that if it were only that, you could also do without it.
  • The reason is that teachers are well placed in a position to teach the best (and then separating males from females) "is not included among the reasons Faes.
Given that I do not think that would be an injustice in principle put teachers in a position to work calmly :-) too large and that many choices in schools are made to this reasoning,
with which one seeks in Faes, as in all public schools, the pupil is primarily good in the long term, and with it his education, seeking to also help parents to look at this (which is not easy now :-))
  • those who work with young people today knows that the appearance of "distractions" (ie, the trivialization of sexuality, I think you mean), as well as should not be exploited nor demonized, should not be either minimized or ridiculed.
  • is not correct to say that schools Faes "that teach children the principles of the differences Gender .
is not correct to infer that even the choice of the homogeneity.
First of all, the choice of the homogeneity stems from other educational priorities.
Also, if it was to raise the issue of gender is a vital issue for the future of society, the orientation of Faes, consistent with the families that support it, is certainly to counter the pressures now coming through media, which consist of inculcating in children and adolescents the principle that sexual identity can be chosen without being in correlation with their biological sex and, with it, with the realization of their parenting. And this speech one can not simplify too much.
  • In a homogeneous class takes place far from the separation "so clearly between the worlds of logical and rational (rational intelligence) from the affective-relational (emotional intelligence)." , as claimed by a mom.
Really, for a neutral look, often wonder how it is the opposite, ie classes Faes, where I teach and live, on average, we experience an excellent development of emotional intelligence along with the normal development of the rational one.
It does not say "a mother" individual (and anonymous). He says my daily experience as a teacher, say the numerous ex-pupils (not all failed, there are many normal and manufactured both in terms of the affects that of the profession). Many experts say it also impartial and not even hardcore fans of the homogeneity.
  • respect to the homogeneity, may perhaps be interesting as this: in recent years, there were already two international conferences, in university-level education uniform. There is currently a researcher at the faculty of pedagogy of Milan's Catholic about it, and not driven by an ordinary side with total consistency.
In this research, without any form of self-referentiality or claim of superiority, it investigates homogeneous system of values, look for other unsuspecting families of almost all European countries and Anglo-Saxon.
Sure you can say that the universities are controlled by Opus Dei, and at this point we question all authority.
including the Internet, and bloggers :-).
  • I can not understand the scandal that a specialist in prestige (dott.sa Salomon) gives a testimonial to the educational project Faes even when it appears in her private life she married civilly (and therefore, I infer, not totally adhere to the teachings of Catholic Church).
Of course, this would be a paradox in a Catholic school. But the shows
Faes as a "secular state". It seems to me that this even to you "Inside" seems clear.
Or is there something wrong from the point of view lay in civil marriage?
Or maybe there is some indelible guilt in having had a child outside of marriage?
Or is there something wrong with making a testimonial, and maybe even take money for it?
escapes me who are the hypocrites in this whole issue ...
  • ah, finally, here is something truly unacceptable
"a mother convinced her son to do the Faes with the excuse that there was a football field."
still escapes me what is wrong: it is wrong to put the football field at school? E 'wrong to play football during recess? How does this restrict the freedom of a boy?
How does plagiarism, how it deviates from its full maturity?
  • Ah yes, here is the real vulnus "says a now forty year old, referring to his childhood: " I had no intention of leaving my friends in elementary. " What injustice! What a pain! I hope it will comfort the fact that many other people have had to abandon their comrades of the elementary step in the media (and not talking about the companions of the media!). But few of them have experienced trauma, and almost no one complains that the age of maturity.
Among other things, who has seen safeguard its inalienable right "not to give up" the companions of the primary, very rarely has maintained long friendships with them for life.
You see, today they are discussing whether or not we can make decisions about end of life of a close relative ... in education that everyone knows is the sole responsibility of the parents decided to organize time and attendance of their younger children (think of those who moved for work, those who bear children out of town all weekend, ...)
not appear to have ever died for this (indeed, Laura Pausini has also made a song successful :-)).
  • We now come to the discretion of priests chaplains the school.
In the blog, a former pupil says: "I was going that if more than 3 weeks did not go to confession the priest present at the Opera school, the tutor was to call me and told me," said Don R. which is a little 'that sees you, perhaps you'd better pass from him "and the invitation was clear. "
Well, am a teacher for 7 years to Faes and never - never say - a chaplain told me to send a pupil, nor told me that if a student confesses or not.
I see many guys go talk to the priest, of all ages, and many others do not, in full freedom.
Personally, I happen to speak in class confession and beauty to cultivate a relationship with a priest. I did it in general as once per class, in the few minutes that separate the other a lesson, and I believe I have done my duty as an educator in a practice not to pretend indifference to the sacrament of confession, it follows from the I understand it has improved the lives of many people helping them out of guilt, rather than get him.

    Question:
Who can confirm that this priest has said the Tutor that the student does not confess? It could have been a ruse, though unhappy, the same tutor?
Even were the case, how do you argue that this is the usual practice or that practice to be encouraged Faes in?

We are confident that the confession itself is not the problem for critics?
Probably yes, given that the article be shocked that a teacher encourages a student in good faith " to meet the priest and even to have recourse to sacramental confession "
Since the world began advising is not a good thing never been a crime.
Because nobody tore his clothes if a teacher derides the practice of confession by one or more students, or remain indifferent to the disintegration they face many pre-teens?
  • And finally, money. He writes in the blog:
"Schools Faes, as an equal, receive public funding, meaning that the money of the citizens are used to support families who can afford school fees for children aged 3 to 6 000 euro a year "
But who said that all families can afford Faes 6000 € per year?
Many families, who can not afford this amount, they can access through the regional contributions to Faes.
But why not use the same standards with the state school?
There is a limit of income to attend public school?
Of the families who use the public school, no one can afford its € 6 000 per year? Because no one is offended by this?
the bottom for these families of public money will be spent much more than six thousand a year, because of the inefficiencies of the state bureaucracy.
Sure, you say that the government employ, operate the public service. But
service is for citizens, not the service itself!
Besides the playing field, in addition to providing a service, do not give even work?
Or maybe it would be wrong in principle to employ "non-state"?
  • One thing in fact I did not know: that existed even a gift for those who make the school even state.
Let me understand: who does the state school, in addition to not pay the fees (right), also receives public money?
It would be an injustice if this happened only for those with ISEE indicator below the range of poverty?

Again, I do not understand who are the hypocrites in this whole issue ....
